Disguised as a humble Brahmachari, Lord Vamana arrived at the grand Yagya being conducted by King Bali under the guidance of Shukracharya. The young Brahmin boy was welcomed warmly.
When asked what he desired, Vamana replied, “Grant me the space that I can cover in three steps of my feet.”
This simple request amused everyone present — the demons laughed at what seemed to be a childish and insignificant demand. But King Bali, ever generous and true to his word, agreed.
